Fife & Drum Miniatures manufactures die cast military miniatures in 1/56 scale, or approximately 30mm high. Our figures are sculpted by Richard Ansell, while Robi Baker is the creator of our artillery and equipment range. We have all of our figures and equipment cast by Griffin Moulds Ltd, the premier white metal caster in the world. As a result, each casting comes out of the mould crisp and clean, with no mould lines and no metal flash attached. Best of all: there is no assembly required. All figures are provided unpainted.

Seven Years War

American Revolution
Our second range covers the American Revolution (or "AWI") and is focused on the Philadelphia Campaign of 1777 and 1778. Our British infantry are depicted in the uniform that they would have worn on campaign: overalls replacing knee britches and gaitors, cut down or shortened red coats, and brimmed hats rather than tricorn hats. The British figures can be used from the New York Campaign in late 1776 all the way to the close of hostilities at Yorktown in 1781. Our American figures include Continentals in uniforms or hunting shirts, and militia in civilian clothing. |

The US Postal Service is currently not sending any packages to Australia for the time being. USPS cites the lack of cargo planes or cargo space for its mail to Australia. Also, Australia appears to have a mail backup in its country so this exasperates the problem. I have been given not time table for when US postal service to Australia will resume.

Seven Year War Association Convention August 5-7, 2021
The annual SYWA Convention is being held this year in South Bend, IN at the usual venue, Waterford Estates Lodge. However, the hotel has changed its name to Ramada By Wyndam South Bend. The hotel was acquired and renovated by Ramada Inns earlier this year. Covid protocols are on the "honor system" in which no masks are required if you have been vaccinated, but you will be expected to self-report your vaccination status and wear a mask if you have not been vaccinated, but the latter is entirely up to you.
I will be running the Battle of Freeman's Farm scenario on both Friday afternoon and Saturday afternoon. I may also host a small and fun skirmish game on Saturday evening.

Richard Ansell sent me pictures of the greens that he sculpted of 8 American riflemen representing Morgan's Rifles at the Battle of Saratoga. Check out our workbench tab to see pictures of the new sculpts. The greens have been sent to Griffin Moulds to have the production moulds made and then the figures will be cast. The figures should be available on this web site by the end of July 2020.

Customers in Europe are reporting back to us that it is taking approximately four weeks for shipments to arrive from the United States. Normal shipping time is usually one to two weeks for Europe. Our local post office told us that the reason for the delay is that it is hard to find available airplanes to ship overseas cargo due to the severe reduction in the number of flights during the pandemic. Furthermore, if a package has not left the US after about four weeks, the US Postal Service is returning the package to the shipper.
All international orders will have the postal tracking number emailed to the customer at the time of shipment so that you can track the progress of your package.
If you have not received your order after four to five weeks, we will send you a duplicate order free of charge. It has always been Fife & Drum Miniatures policy to replace any lost shipment or any shipment after six weeks, but we will act on shipping replacement orders a little sooner during the pandemic period.

AWI Packaging Change Implemented January 16, 2019
As announced earlier in 2018, Fife & Drum Miniatures will now be selling infantry figures in packs of multiple figures, such as command packs and infantry packs. Individual figures are no longer available on the web store. This style of packaging is consistent with the AWI Hessian and South Carolina Continentals, as well as the entire Minden SYW range of figures.
The prices for the figures remain at approximately $2.00 per foot and $6.00 per cavalry, so there has been no change in per figure prices. The cavalry and mounted officer figures will continue to be sold as single figure packs. Artillery equipment is not affected by this change.

Please note that as of August 31, 2018 the figures from the Fife & Drum American Revolution (or AWI) will no longer be sold as single figures. Going forward, the figures will be bagged in product codes of 4 to 8 figures for infantry and foot figures, which is the same as the packaging for the AWI Hessians and all of the Minden SYW figure ranges. Some of the AWI cavalry figures will continue to be sold as single figures

I have just sent in the order to the caster I expect to have these figures available for sale in January 2018. The mounted militia are available in a variety of clothing: civilan coats, hunting shirts, waistcoats and uniform coats and they are further divided into figures wearing tricorn hats, flat brimmed hats, and brimmed hats turned up on the left side. These are perfectly suited for American mounted militia in the Carolinas or for regular dragoons, if you want some variety of headgear.
Pictures will be posted and product codes will be entered into the web store once the caster informs me that the figures have been shipped to us.

We finally have some of the "greens" in hand and I have sent them off to Griffin Moulds to make production moulds and spin the figures. The first batch will include a musketeer and drummer in sleeved waistcoat, an NCO in uniform coat and an officer in uniform coat. These figures will be ready for sale in January 2018.
Our sculptor is now working on the Russian Observation Corps musketeers and grenadiers - 10 new figures in total - and I expect that these will be ready for sale by February 2018.
